Imphal, April 11 2009:
For ruling coalition partners, Congress and CPI there is no man to be their agents in Bishnupur district, claimed MDA candidate Th Chaoba.
Speaking at an election meeting held at Takyel Kolom Leikai today under the aegis of MPP Patsoi Kendra, the former Union Minister said that the people of Bishnupur district are enraged over the attempt to include Bishnupur district in Outer Parliamentary constituency in place of Thoubal district.
As the upcoming Lok Sabha elections is a matter of life and death for Bishnupur district, there is no man to be polling agent of the ruling parties, Chaoba claimed.
He alleged that Congress candidate Dr T Meinya is not welcome by the people of Konthoujam AC which is his home polling station.
On the other hand, CPI's Dr Nara is one candidate who could not cast vote in the elections.
If the people wish to save the life of hunger striker Sharmila, waakat meephams and JACs would not do.
If the people are determined to put an end to the rampant killings, voting for Congress would be contradictory.
Only when the MPP candidate is elected, the life of Sharmila can be saved after removing disturbed area status from the State, he asserted.
As a result of the forced merger of Manipur into Indian during the rule of Congress party, youths of the State were dejected, he said further accusing the Congress party of imposing military act in Manipur.
MPP president Dr L Chandramani also addressed the meeting.
