Imphal, December 09 2011:
The Imphal bench of the Gauhati High Court has asked the Manipur Public Service Commission to file their answer on December 19 on a petition filed by some candidates who alleged malpractices and irregularities in the preliminary examination for recruiting MCS/MPS/MFS and allied services.
The main examination of the Manipur Civil Services Combined Competitive examination is slated for January 10 next year with the Prelims result announced some time back.
The hearing of the case was conducted before the Imphal Bench of the High Court yesterday.
According to the petitioners, the Manipur Public Service Commission created confusion amongst the candidates by directing them not to write names or mark anything on the answer paper according to the directives published on admit cards.
However, this was contradicted when the candidates were asked to write their names on a single page answer paper supplied by the MPSC.
Appearing for the petitioners, Advocate BP Sahu presented a copy of the answer paper acquired through RTI as an exhibit before the Court.
Next hearing of the said case will be held on December 19 in which the MPSC will be allowed to make its defence statement.
The petitioners made six main points supporting their claim of alleging the MPSC for committing gross malpractices and irregularities in the prelims examination held in September this year.
