Political parties strike positive pose ahead of vote count

Imphal, March 05 2012:
With counting of votes set to begin for the election to the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly, different political parties have struck positive stance, hoping for a good show.
Talking to The Sangai Express, NPF president G Gaingam said that his party would register win in six Assembly segments, out of 12 ACs, where the party fielded its candidates.
Sources from Manipur People's Party (MPP) claimed that its candidates would come out victorious in eight ACs.
The regional party fielded its candidates in 14 Assembly Constituencies.
Out of its 47 candidates, Trinamool Congress is projected to win 15 candidates while NCP expressed confidence of winning seven seats.
MSCP which fielded 31 candidates is banking on winning at least five seats.
Congress ally in SPF-II Government, CPI said that it hopes to win in 8 to 10 Assembly segments.
The party contested the Assembly election in 24 ACs.
Janata Dal (United) is also hopeful of winning at least two seats while NPP and CPI (M) are confident of winning two and one seat each respectively.
Indian National Congress (INC) refused to disclose the projected seats it hopes to win.
However, party leaders expressed confidence that that the party would win absolute majority in the 60-member House.
