THE JOINT Administrative Council (JAC) of the bodies of the striking employees of the Manipur government Tuesday criticized the chief minister for his alleged hidden policy to hate the employees by the general public by stating wrong information on the demand of for recommendation of the sixth Pay Commission to its employees.
Meanwhile, normal office functioning in the Manipur Legislative Assembly paralyzed Tuesday as the employees of its secretariat carried out a sit-in protest in the Assembly complex suspending all official business of the day.
Speaking at the sit-in protest site, the general secretary of the JAC, Ch Chandramani criticized the state chief minister, O Ibobi Singh of "misinforming" the public on the demand of the employees of the government while reacting to the statement given to the media with regard to the demand of the employees.
The chief minister in one of government function in the recent time had said that government has no funds to bear with the additional expenditure to be incurred while implementation of the sixth pay in the state and if they continue to press, government has to pay it from the plan funds which mean for developmental activities.
The statement of the chief minister was a liar one as salaries of the employees are incurred from the non-plan funds of the state account while the funds for development and other welfare activities of the people is from the plan head, Chandramani said.
He also observed that even though two months has completed to the cease work strike of the government remaining mute.
"It's the indication of disunity among the employees".
Around 60 employees of the state Assembly took part in the sit-in protest staged at Assembly complex.
It was commenced from 10 am and went till around 4 pm.
