Imphal, April 26 2009:
THE ALL Manipur Anti-Drug Association, Manipur (AMADA) under it's 'Health Care Mission" and in association with the North East Trade Fair Association (NEFTA) and MGC is going to organize a 17-day Trade Fair for the second time starting from April 29 to May 15 at Hapta Kangjeibung, Palace Compound.
AMADA stated that the Trade Fair will be organized under the motto of 'Health, Unity and Prosperity' and also stated that various programmes related to health and cultural tradition will be held during the trade fair.
AMADA appealed to all the people of the state to kindly take part at the fair.
Meanwhile, another press release of AMADA stated that AMADA head office has seized 105 litres of liquor from 8 persons in different anti drug and alcohol drives conducted at the areas of Khangempali Pankha, Sagolband Tera Keithel, Khurai Thangjam Leikai, Khurai Thoudam Leikai, Canchipur University Gate and Kyamgei Mayai Leikai on April 23 and 24 last.
The statement identified the 8 liquor vendors as Kiyam Sushma (44) of Khangempali Pankha, Wahengbam Gambhir (56) of Sagolband Tera Keithel, Maibam Ibohal (64) of Khurai Thangjam Leikai, Lourakpam Janaki alias Memcha (60) of Khurai Thangjam Leikai, Ningombam Sarju (26) of Khurai Thoudam Leikai, Kharibam Purnima (40) of Canchipur University Gate, Takhellambam Ibohal (80) of Thongju Part II and Koijam Bikram (32) of Kyambei Mamang Leikai.
All the apprehended persons were safely surrendered to their respective families after attaining an amicable conclusion not to indulge in such activities in future while the seized liquor will be destroyed soon in public, stated AMADA.
