Four day Bharat Nirman Campaign on flagship programmes of the Central Government organised by Press Information B ureau, Government of India, Imphal in collaboration with DAVP, DFP, Song and Drama Division, All India Radio and Doordarshan, 57 Mountain Division Brigade, NYK, Senapati began at Indoor Stadium, Senapati Tuesday, a PIB statement informed.
The Inaugural function was graced by Nidhi Kesarwani, IAS Deputy Commissioner, Senapati District and HK Vareisui, ZEO, Senapati as the chief guest and president respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Nidhi Kesarwani highlighted the importance of the flagship programmes of Central government.
She said that the flagship programmes like NRHM help a citizen while she or he is still in own mother�s womb.
Like Janani Suraksha Yojana provide health care to pregnant women to child birth.
She also added the district administration stands to ensure that all these flagship programmes reach to the grass root people.
It is a journey in a positive direction, according to the statement.
In his presidential speech HK Vareisui highlighted the success stories of SSA and mid-day meal schemes in the district.
He appealed to the general public especially Senapati district to come forward and take part in such a campaign, it added.
Delivering the key note address, L Premlata, MCO, PIB, Imphal appealed to the general public to take the chance of participation of such kind of campaign.
It is a golden chance for general public to interact with the resource persons from the implementing departments, the PIB statement conveyed.
R.K.Sanajaoba, FPO, DFP, Churachandpur proposed the Vote of thanks.
Later, Chief Guest of the Inaugural Function Nidhi Kesarwani inaugurated the exhibition stalls, the statement added.
In the technical session of the campaign, Nehemiah Rong, EPO, DRDA, Senapati spoke on the NREGS programmes implemented in Senapati District.
He explained various programme components, entitlement by the beneficiaries and different works taken up at the village level.
He also highlighted about the transparency of the scheme.
Ramsingam Gonmei, APO, DRDA, Senapati delivered a speech on Indira Awaj Yojana Scheme.
He said that IAY scheme was given to the poorest of the poor in the village nominated by the village authority.
Large numbers of poor families in Senapati District have been benefited under this IAY Scheme.
During the interaction session many questions were raised by the audience and they were clarified by the resource person.
Cultural Troupe from Song & Drama Division, Imphal performed theme based cultural programme to entertain the audience.
An overwhelming number of people in hundreds turned up to attend the inaugural function as well as the technical session and took active participation by interacting with the resource persons during the technical session, according to the PIB statement.
