A joint meeting of the Standing Committee of All Manipur Working Journalists' Union and Editors has decided to press the Senior SP Imphal west to provide the detail reports of the attack at the office of the evening daily "Paojel" apart from resolving to urge the authority concern to allow the reporters passing through the main roads in front of Raj Bhavan and CM Bungalow on the stretch of the NH-39 which police prevented since yesterday.
The statement of the AMWJU today said that the meeting thoroughly discussed on the failure on the part of the SP Imphal west to provide a detail report on the incident of attacking the office of the Paojel daily on August 6 night at around 7.55 even though he assured of providing the same before the chief minister on the same of occurrence of the incident and decided to insist the SP to provide the same at
the earliest.
It also discussed on the problems facing by the reporters in going to collect reports amidst the curfew by obtaining curfew pass from the competent authorities and restriction imposed to the reporters while passing in front eastern gate of the Raj Bhavan and western gate of the CM Bungalow despite the curfew pass and decided to appeal the authority to relax the restriction.
