Imphal, August 10 2009:
Manipur People's Party (MPP) leaders today visited the family of Thokchom Rabina - one of the dead victims of July 23 incident at Khwairamband Bazar - at their residence located at Lamshang Bazar.
The MPP leaders, led by its president Dr Nimaichand Luwang, have also doled out monetary assistance to the family members.
Dr Nimaichand Luwang told the family members of Rabina that the MPP is constantly standing for helpless people like Rabina.
He said the party is not paying a visit to them to draw a political mileage out of it.
The party is also seeking comments on how to end the unwanted happenings in the state.
Though every one is destined to meet our end, Rabina had unfortunately met her end injudiciously, the MPP President said.
He added, "We are coming here to share the agony on her demise." Dr Nimaichand also said that his party will support any movement launched by the people against state terrorism.
The husband of the late Rabina, Chinglensana said he doesn't want any compensation from the government.
He firmly asserted his desire to do away with such kind of killing in future.
Chinglen said the psychic trauma his two and half year old son, Russel suffered after the lost of his mother has added the pain.
He said the family members are lost what would be done.
The Chief Minister deserves to pay a visit to the family though he did never bother to do so.
Chinglen is also disappointed on the way the dead body of her wife was handled by the police.
The members of the JAC against the killing of Rabina, who were present on at the meeting, reiterated that the 'Shradha' of Rabina would not be performed until the demands for the resignation of the CM and punishment to guilty police commandos are fulfilled.
The JAC members also asserted that they would continue agitating until their demands are fulfilled even if curfew is imposed.
They also expressed that no talk will be held with the government until their demands are realised.
Later, the MPP leaders visited the injured victims at RIMS Hospital.
The party leaders have also doled out monetary assistance to them.
