Imphal, April 09 2011:
A compensation amount of Rs 5,16,880 which a person has to get for affecting his land by the construction of right canal of the Khuga Dam has been withdrawn allegedly using forge signature of the beneficiary.
RK Dinesh, the beneficiary land owner, speaking to reporters today at Manipur Press Club Imphal, said that the amount has been without his knowledge.
He said that .75 acre of his land at Kumbi Salankonjin was affected by the construction of the right canal of the dam.
Dinesh recalled that the pradhan of the Saiton Gram Panchayat, Ahanthem Ibungo, asked him to come at the office of the Bishnupur additional SP on July 2010.On that day, he was asked to sign at a non-judicial stamp after handing over Rs 50,000 by Ibungo in presence of K Bidyapati of Salanthong saying that it was compensation for his land affected by the canal construction.
Later, he came to know that the actual amount, he had to get as compensation was Rs 5,16,880 and when he made an enquiry into the matter, the compensation amount was found withdrawn by K Bidyapati, member of Saiton GP allegedly in collusion with pradhan Ibungo and M Nabakumar.
Nabakumar had impersonated as land owner while withdrawing the amount, Dinesh alleged.
He had approached to the court regarding the fraudulent withdrawal of the money but he is yet to receive the amount, Dinesh lamented.
