Imphal, August 11 2009:
Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), General headquarters has strongly condemned the BT Road fake encounter and the government's evasive conduct on the demands of the protesting organisations.
A statement issued by the information and publicity secretary of KSO (GHQ), Paotinthang Lupheng also made heard its persistent demands for the revocation of the plan for deployment of police commandos and IRB personnel in the hill districts of the state.
Registering its condemnation to what it terms the government's 'escapism approach' and 'evasive tactic' in the aftermath of BT Road fake encounter incident, the KSO statement expressed its unreserved hatred over the reign of terror unleashed by the Manipur police commandos.
"The KSO has a long history of confrontations with the police department over the fake encounters perpetrated by their commandos.
Unfortunately for the KSO or other students' organisations, NGOs and JACs, there had been no 'Tehelka' photos to slap the commandos on the face.
This time around, the police commandos have no choice but to admit their guilt," the KSO statement reads.
Citing the incident wherein five innocent students who had come from Moreh were mowed down at Hatta by the commandos only to be branded as 'insurgents' the next morning and the guilty personnel went unpunished, the statement observed it as a 'state sponsored terrorism'.
Against these backdrops, the KSO is opposed to the deployment of Police commandos and IRB in the hills.
It also asserted that the demand for the revocation of the Manipur's government's decision for the deployment of police commandos and IRB in the hills will never be compromised.
