(Continued from yesterday) .
RANJITA REITERATES that the time provided by the election Committee was too short to enable aspiring candidates to obtain their Class XII pass original certificate making it illogical and absurd.
She also points out that making the class XII pass original certificate mandatory in filing nominations was not mentioned in the election notification issued by the EC but was mentioned in the nomination form.
What would have happened to some candidates who thought of filing the nomination on the last day who were blind about the new development, Ranjita asked while asserting that it is a part of conspiracy.
On the assertion of the Election Committee that several students were being able to file their nomination with the Class XII original certificate, Ranjita countered that the students who were able to file their nominations knew the conspiracy hatched beforehand and were collaborating with the Election Committee.
Stating that councilors for three departments where no candidate has been filed are there, Ranjita demands to know the provisions for the three departments.
Ranjita stated that this is the first time when MUSU President is elected uncontested while asking the reason behind it.
Re-asserting that the word 'official' is not only meant the written form, Ranjita stated that in the context of MU election verbal form of formality has been widely used.
Ranjita also sought clarification over the hurling of eggs and tomatoes at the VC office by some disgruntled students of the university wherein the EC statement mentioned that it was carried out on scrutiny date.
Though it is acceptable that the decision of the EC is final and binding, Ranjita said that the EC members lack basic knowledge of law and common sense while citing an aphorism "An unjust law is not law at all," and "power without justice is tyranny".
Ranjita also asked why Prof Islamuddin, the Dean of Students came on the scrutiny date if he had tendered resignation before April 18 and why the EC didn't raised objection.
She also pointed out that the EC doesn't know the level of autonomy it is sanctioned.
The EC should know that every MUSU election is conducted under the supervision of the Dean.
Ranjita furthermore questioned whether all complains regarding MUSU election notice have been lodged in written form while also saying that there was no provision in the election notification that all complains should be in written form.
The statement also asked the credibility and nature of the notice that was issued three minutes before the lapse of the last date of submission of notification on the request of three intending candidate.
Ranjita then stated to represent the voice of the students of MU whose rights have been infringed which can never be suppressed by intimidation.
