Registering its protest against the non-handing over of power and function of BDO/SDO Tengnoupal by the Deputy Commissioner of Chandel in spite of the order issued by the Manipur Government to this effect, the Tengnoupal Block United Chiefs/Chairmen's Association (TBUCCA) has announced an indefinite bandh along NH 39 Pallel-Moreh and Pallel-Chandel routes from 6 am of April 4 .
Informing this in a press statement, the TBUCCA President, TM Holkhokhai James said that no response has been coming either from the DC or the ADC/Moreh despite the fact that a memorandum for the devolution of power to the BDO/SDO Tengnoupal being submitted to the Chandel district Deputy Commissioner.
It said that the matter is being felt seriously by the entire villages of Tengnoupal block.
Moreover, the Association is also singing the tune of boycotting the coming Lok Sabha election if its demand has not been responded positively, according to the press release.
Any vehicle plying along the routes shall bear their own risk during the bandh period, the statement said while adding that schools, electricity, water supply and medical departments will be exempted from the purview of the bandh.
