MP Meinya informs LS of triple murder

Imphal, February 19 2009: Member of Parliament, Inner Manipur, Dr Thokchom Meinya, while participating the discussion of the Motion of Thanks on the President's Address delivered to both Houses of the Parliament on February 18 last, made special mention about the multiple murders of Dr Thingam Kisan, MCS, Sub Divisional Officer of Kasom Khullen, his driver Aribam Rajen and Yumnam Token who is a mandal in his office near Taphou village on NH 39 after being abducted by unidentified armed people.

He informed the House about how the three were found after killing mercilessly using hoe and stone.

He sought the indulgence of the House to condemn the inhuman act of killing innocent lives.

He drew the attention of the Union government to help the state government to modernize the security forces deployed in the state in order to combat such unwanted and unlawful activities in future.

He also urged Union government for an early solution of the NSCN (IM) problem without disturbing the territorial integrity of the state.

He also expressed his desire and wish of the people of Manipur to respect and protect the geographical boundary of the state at the time of merge with the Union of India.

He also said that there shall be no compromise on the territorial integrity of Manipur.
