The Shija Hospitals and Research Institute, Langol, an ISO 9001:2000 certified 200 bedded secondary and tertiary healthcare centre, has been granted accreditation for 3 years Post Graduate Diplomate National Board (DNB) Anaesthesia Course.
This is the first recognition being conferred to a private hospital as Post Graduate learning institute in the state of Manipur, informed Chairman cum- Managing Director, Dr Kh Palin in a press release.
After thorough inspection conducted by inspectors from National Board of Examinations, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, the hospital has been granted the accreditation for DNB in Anaesthesia vide NBE Ref.
No: ACC/SHRI/ANS/MAN/NBE/CF-595/20740, dated: 17th March 2009 .
DNB is a 3 years Post Graduate Course recognised by MCI, Universities and any other legal bodies.
The hospital is allowed to start the course from July 2009 onwards with an annual intake of 2 (Two) seats of which 1(One) candidate who has cleared the DNB Primary and 1 (One) candidate holding MCI/ University recognised Post Graduate Diploma for a period of two years in Anaesthesia, Dr Palin informed.
Dr Palin further stated that the Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care, Shija Hospitals and Research Institute is headed by Prof P Nishikanta, Former HOD-Anaesthesia, RIMS and GB Pant Medical College Hospital, Agartala.
The department is equipped with five modern Operation Theatres with Digital Boyle's Apparatus with Savoflurane Anaesthesia and 18 bedded ICU with some of the most advanced Ventilator and central gas supply.
He informed that notification for admission will be announced in an advertisement in all the leading newspapers in the month of July.
