Imphal, March 07 2011:
Since the state government has remained silent over the matter of fake license issued by the Imphal Municipal Council, there is no one in the state to solve the issue, stated Thingujam Rani, general secretary, Nupi Keithel Sinpham amadi Shaktam Kanba Lup today in a press meet held at Imoinu Keithel.
Speaking to the reporters, Rani said that a similar issue was also occurred when IMC issued 31 fake licenses in the time of shifting from Lakshmi Keithel to the temporary market sheds.
Out of them, 25 women were provided seats.
Unfortunately 25 new women with licenses issued by the IMC have emerged at the time of shifting from the temporary market sheds to the new shed.
Calling for immediate attention in the situation, she appealed to the state government to solve the matter at the earliest to avoid any untoward incidents.
Meanwhile, the All Thanga Schedule Caste Ima Khwairamban Keithel Ngayonbi Lup alleged close associates of MLA Thanga A/C for taking bribes of Rs 2000 to Rs 5000 from women who did not sell fishes even for a single day to provide seats in the shifting to the temporary market sheds.
Speaking in a press meet held at Manipur Press Club, secretary H Chaobi said that the association had submitted memorandum to the state CM in 2009 to provide seats for the fish vendors in the temporary market sheds.
Later they approached PDA with the same request and as a result they were provided 314 seats in the temporary sheds.
She alleged that MLA Mangibabu of Thanga AC had denied to help them when they approached to him with the same request.
Unfortunately, workers of MLA Mangibabu collected Rs 2000 to Rs 5000 from non fish vendors and submitted a false list of fish vendors to the authority, she alleged.
