Imphal, August 04 2009:
Working Committee of the Apunba Lup has announced its preparedness to launch other intense agitations against the fake encounter incident on July 23 even as its 48-hour general strike ended midnight of today.
In a statement, the WCAL stated that a torch rally will be taken out at every locality at 8pm on Wednesday to demand the resignation of the CM and punishment against the guilty police commandos.
It also stated that the organisation has worked out further course of action in collaboration with the JAC formed in connection with the killing.
The WCAL has also strongly condemned the action of the police commandos in inflicting injuries to several persons during the 48-hour general strike.
It also thanked all concerned who have extended support the general strike while also appealing them to join in future course of action too.
Further, the WCAL has rejected all sorts of inquiry in connection with the incident of Khwairamband Bazar on July 23.It questioned what other inquiries are needed than the photos carried by Tehelka.
The WCAL statement posited that the CM has no reason to retain his post.
The Apunba Lup feels shame for the state government to the rest of the
states.
Coming down on the MLAs and Ministers of the state, the statement categorically asked whether they are inferior to the police commandos.
It also questioned over the silence maintained by the MLAs and Ministers on the CM's statement who said there is no other means than killing the militants.
