People want Phungyar to be a new district : Wungnaoshang

The Phungyar MLA, Wungnaoshang Keishing today expressed surprise at the UNC's stand on the creation of Phungyar district by bifurcating four sub-divisions of Ukhrul district, describing that the demand has nothing to do with GoI-NSCN(IM) peace talk.
He said that the demand for a new district was approached to the government as per wishes of the people and he is supporting the demands as a representative of the people.
It is a bounden duty as MLA to fulfill the desire of the people.
Reminding the difficulties facing by the people of the four sub-divisions, Phungyar, Kamjong, Kasom Khullen and Sahaphung of the present Ukhrul district, the threat pose by the UNC will not hurt in his political career as people are with him, the MLA said adding the plight of the people of the four sub-division, due to backward, will be able to solve once the district is created.
The MLA shared his comments on the sideline of a function held in connection with distribution of power tillers to the farmers of Phungyar A/C under a scheme of the Union ministry of minority affairs.
He handed over six power tillers to the farmers in the function held at his official quarter at Babupara.
He also distributed 300 bee-boxes to the farmers.
Speaking on the occasion, Wungnaoshang said that he had worked hard to avail the power tillers with the objective of benefiting farmers of Ukhrul district.
He was happy when farmers get the power tillers.
He appealed to the farmers to utilize the power tillers as their own properties, saying that he is working for availing benefits of other schemes to the farmers of the district.
