Imphal, October 29 2012: The economic blockade imposed on Imphal-Ukhrul road against the kidnapping of contractor Iranbanta continues.

The blockade has been imposed by the JAC formed in connection with the disappearance of Irabanta.

Even though the JAC had announced its decision to impose the blockade from October 12, it became effective from yesterday.

Commodities loaded on passenger vehicles were offloaded at Seijang in Imphal East district by the blockade supporters.

Around 11am today, blockade supporters unloaded all items carried by passenger vehicles coming from both directions.

However, police personnel have collected the items and dispersed the gatherings.

It may be mentioned that Irungbam Irabanta of Nongdam Maning Leikai has been traceless since he left his house for Ukhrul on May 27.Several forms of agitation have been launched under the aegis of the JAC formed in connection with the disappearance of I Irabanta.

The case was also discussed in the Assembly during its last session.
