Imphal, March 05 2009:: Anguish local people today dismantled house of a mouluvi at Kwakta Khuman Thongkhong under Moirang police station in Bishnupur district for his alleged attempt to take over the land where he live which is not belongs to him.

The anguish people rose up this morning at around 7.45 am and dragged down the house of the mouluvi named Azad Khan (25) son of Kutub Ali constructed in the land of one Md Jalahuddin, former pradhan.

According to the former pradhan, he had provided the land on rent on the request of the mouluvi Azad for housing his family some times back.

After knowing that he attempted to transfer the land to his name, he has been asked to leave the land for several times.

On his refusal, he lodged a complaint to the local people who rose up in anguish and dismantled the structure where the mouluvi, the former pradhan added.

He also said that Azad came to the village some nine months back with a plea to serve the Masjid of the village.

He provided the land to Azad on rent but Azad started lobbying to take over the land and register in his name.

The mouluvi accompanied by his brothers and relatives on January 29 last of his year assaulted the former pradhan.

He was hurt at the head in the assault incident.

His family members were also beaten up.

In the meantime, in the people outrage and dismantling, property worth around Rs 2 lakh belonging to the mouluvi including a small shop and his house has been destroyed.
