Regular columnist of Hueiyen Lanpao (English), Seram Neken has been selected for the RK Maipaksana Journalist Fellowship 2010 .
Under the fellowship, which started last year, Seram Neken would be given ' 2000 a month for one year.
The columnist selected for the fellowship is expected to do research and write on various matters such as government-people relationship, the scenario of development in the remote areas of the hill districts, the bond between the hills and the valley, the situation in which the young widows of Manipur find themselves, the life of the orphans, right to life, communal harmony, etc.
After a thorough and careful scrutiny of the nomination papers submitted by a number of journalists and columnists, a panel of judges recommended selection.
Thus following a resolution taken by the board of trustee of the RK Maipaksana Memorial Trust, Seram Neken has been selected for the fellowship.
The fellowship will be presented on October 11, 2010 at Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy Hall on the occasion of 86th birth anniversary of Late RK Maipaksana.
