Pro-ILPS rally taken out

Imphal, August 20 2014:
Light passenger vehicles plying along NH-37 at Sagolband area took out a protest rally demanding ILPS implementation at around 11 am today.
However, police blocked the rally at Tera Bazar.
A large number of light passenger vehicles comprising of Diesel Auto, Tata Magic and Tata Aris took out the protest rally on the highway towards Imphal.
As they were blocked at Tera Bazar, the rallyist had a heated argument with the police.
However, they were forced to return by the police.
On the other hand, sit-in-protests and public meetings were held at various places of the State demanding ILPS implementation.
A large number of people residing along Imphal-Moreh from Kakwa Bazar to MU main gate staged a sit-in-protests along the road along with various club members of these areas.
Sit-in-protests were staged along the road side at Kakwa Bazar, Kakwa Nameirakpam Leikai, Thongju Boroi Makhong, Pechu Lampak, Canchipur first gate and Canchipur Manipur University Main Gate.
On the otherhand, in compliance with the resolution adopted in its general body meeting, Pensioners' Welfare Association (PWA) will stage a sit-in-protest demanding implementation of ILPS in the State at Thongju Boroi Makhong from 11 am to 3 pm on August 22 .
