Imphal, March 07 2011: Cycles were distributed today to the ASHAs at State Mission Society of National Rural Health Mission working in the areas of Yambem, Andro and Nongpok Sekmai at a function held at the PHC, Yambem.

Andro Kendra MLA, Th Shyamkumar graced the distribution function as chief guest which was presided over by Dr Nilakanta, Medical Officer Keithelmanbi PHC.

MOs of Andro PHC, Dr S Bocha, Yambem PHC, Dr Dinibala and Dr Sangita (Medical Officer AYUSH, PHC, Yambem) attended as guests of honour.

Speaking as chief guest, MLA Shyamkumar said that the cycles distributed to the ASHAs were meant to enable them to reach far corners of the villages under their areas of operations.

He also called on the doctors, staff, ASHAs of the PHCs to discharge their duties sincerely towards achieving the end of the Central sponsored NRHM programme.

62 cycles were distributed to 30 ASHAs of Yambem PHC, 28 ASHAs of Andro PHC and four ASHAs of Nongpok Sekmai.
