The Justice Agarwal Commission of Inquiry today ordered to issue warrant of arrest to two injured persons of July 23 shooting incident as they failed to appear in person in hearing of the commission today.
The hearing of the Justice Agarwal Commission of Inquiry was conducted today at its office at Imphal Hotel.
The commission examined the reports of SPs of Imphal east and west districts with regard to the serving of notice on the four injured persons.
Mention may be made that one of the injured persons serving in the IRB had given his statement before the commission it its first hearing held on October 9 last.
The remaining four injured persons of the incident were summoned to appear in persons before the commission today through notifications issued to the Imphal east and Imphal west districts SPs.
The commission examined an application filed by one of the injured women W Gitarani stating that she will not be able to appear in person before the commission as she is bed ridden due to the injury sustained in the incident.
After admitting her explanation, the commission ordered that she can file an affidavit stating about her knowledge of incident and as to how she sustained injury.
While filing her written affidavit, she can also take the legal assistant from advocate Th Modhu who has been appointed as counsel of the commission, the order further stated.
The commission also examined police report of Golmei Mangal, another injured victim of the July 23 incident who is currently treating at AIIMS, New Delhi and decided to issue another fresh summon to him.
Two other injured persons who have been served notices to appear to the commission today but failed to appear without giving any reasons, the commission thoroughly examined to the report submitted to the commission against them.
Taking that inspite of the notices, they failed to appeared and as to obtain procurement to their presence warrant of arrest with bail of Rs 500 each be issued against them.
The warrants should be issued through the SPs of Imphal east and west districts, the order stated.
The commission further decided to issue summons to the proprietor of Maimu Pharmacy, situated at the ground floor of Gambhir Singh Shopping Arcade, BT Road, Imphal, directing him to appear before this commission on the next date along with pharmacist and other employees who were present in his shop on the day of occurring the incident.
The commission also fixed it next hearing on November 11 next and asked all concerns to submit reports sought by the commission on November 10 .
