Curfew cripples life

Imphal, February 24 2009:
The Joint Action Committee against the brutal killing of Dr Thingnam Kishan, Y Token and A Rajen through a press release strongly denied the allegations charged against Dr Kishan which were published in some local dailies as a baseless and unacceptable allegation.
The JAC further claimed the allegations as a ploy by the NSCN (IM) to mislead the people.
In the same time, the JAC expressed their gratitude to the various organisations, especially those based in the hils for taking efforts to find out the truth behind the gruesome killing and for supporting the JAC.
Appreciating the solidarity and support of the various organisations, the statement of the JAC stated that such support would also be helpful in the stgruggle to get justice.
The JAC also appreciated the people of the state who helped in carrying out the funeral march of the victims against the state machinery, particularly the law enforcing agencies who tried to sabotage the peaceful march.
The JAC appealed the people of the state to help the second day of the sit-in-protest staged by the JAC as a part of the ongoing agitation a grand success.
It further appealed the shopkeeper of the state to close their shops halfway as a mark of mourning and respect to the departed souls.
