As there is probability of the inclusion of the state BJP members at the BJP National leaders meeting with the PM and Union Home Minister, a team of BJP Manipur led by its president H Borbabu will leave Imphal for New Delhi on September 6. During its meeting yesterday, the opposition parities of the state have decided to go to Delhi together.
However, as the CPI (M) MP Ramchandra is coming here, the state BJP team will go in advance, BJP Manipur president H Borbabu told this reporter.
"We (opposition members) will meet there in Delhi," he said.
The state BJP team will include its president H Borbabu, ex-CM RK Dorendro, ex-CM W Nipamacha and former BJP Manipur president M Bhorot.
The team is said to urge the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister to fulfill the demands of the opposition parties pertaining to the Khwairamband incident.
They are also said to give a report on the law and order situation of the state and the Khwairamband fake encounter incident in particular.
Meanwhile, as a part of the agitation launched by the BJP Manipur Pradesh against Khwairamband incident, the party members had staged a sit-in-protest at Wangoi Bazar today from 11am to 3pm.The sit-in-protest was attended by BJP President H Borbabu, Ex-CM W Nipamacha, Col (Retd) H Bhubon, M Bhorot, Sh Shantikumar Sharma, ex-minister S Natum, S Ibohal and Rishimani, among others.
Speakers at the sit-in-protest said the party will continue its agitation until the demands for the removal of CM Ibobi from his post and punishment for the guilty police commandos are fulfilled.
They also strongly denounced the silence maintained till now by Congress leaders on the agitations in the wake of Khwairmanband incident.
The BJP members have also said that the Khwairamband incident case should be handed over to the CBI.
They said the atrocities committed during the regime of SPF have not been reported in the state even during the President's Rules in the state.
Placards reading 'oust Ibobi,' 'punish guilty police commandos,' 'impose PR in Manipur,' 'stop fake encounter,' etc were displayed at the sit-in-protest.
