Imphal, June 23 2009:
The Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) has resolved to join hands with like-minded organisations towards addressing various issues that remained unaddressed for quite a long time.
The student body during its emergency presidential council meeting has also resolved to fight against injustice allegedly meted out to the hill people by the State Government.
A press release issued by the TKS further asked the Government not to continue with its indifferent attitude towards several problems such as lack of proper education infrastructure and violation of recruitment rules for State Government services.
It accused the Government of India and Government of Assam for the ethnic tension besieging North Cachar Hills.
Conveying solidarity to all those affected by the ethnic violence, the TKS called upon all Nagas to stand together for a peaceful solution.
The student body further condemned the act of some vested individuals bashing up a driver of a bus plying along Imphal-Ukhrul road.
It also appealed to all concerned not to resort to violence in future.
