Imphal, August 18 2009:
Even as the Health Department has collected swab samples of some people, who came out voluntarily suspecting Swine Flu, the samples have not been sent to laboratories outside the State for necessary tests, due to the State Govt's laxity.
According to a source in the State Health Service, swab samples were taken at JN Hospital and the same should have been sent to New Delhi within 24 hours by flight.
However, the samples remain untested till today as the State Govt has not taken up any initiative in this regard.
Considering the ever rising cases of influenza A (H1N1) infection in the country, the Health Service would be submitting a written representation to the Govt again for necessary action.
Notably, one positive case of Swine Flue was earlier detected in the State.
