Imphal, October 12: A personnel of the 16 J&K Light Infantry stationed at Ningthoukhong pulled the trigger against himself in an apparent act of suicide this morning.

While naming the deceased person one as Ojitkumar, sources informed that he is from the 53 Engineering Regiment attached to the JKLI.

The weapon with which Ojitkumar shot himself on the forehead area belongs to another personnel, added the source.

Meanwhile, commandos of IE district fired about 4/5 shots in the air in chasing two Honda Activa (MN01/7801) borne youths who fled leaving behind their vehicle on seeing the securitymen at Khurai Chinganbam Leikai at around 8 am today.
