Imphal, March 30 2009: A combined team of Imphal East district police commandos and 28 Assam Rifles arrested one PREPAK cadre, identified as Thokchom Chandrakumar alias Negro (22) s/o (L) Jamini of Keirao Bitra Mamang Leikai from Keirao Bitra today.

In another incident, a combined team of Imphal East district police commandos and 28 Assam Rifles nabbed two KYKL cadres from Kongpal yesterday.

The cadres have been identified as Takhelchangbam Pinky alias Arun alias Danid Sharma (18) s/o Rajo of Bamon Leikai Thangjam Leirak and Nongthombam Amit alias Ayangba (24) s/o Ibohanbi of Khurai Chingangbam Leikai.

The district police commandos also arrested one United People Party of Kangleipak (UPPK) cadre, identified as Pukhrambam Prepa alias Guide (30) s/o (L) P Babu of Liwa Road Oinam Leikai from Lamlong Bazar.

On verification, he disclosed that he was involved the shooting of one Meinam Tombi (45) s/o Kaminibabu of Uripok Achom Leikai, said a press release of Imphal East SP.

Imphal West EVM training: District Election Officer, Imphal West informed the Presiding Officer, 1st Polling Officers and 3rd Pooling Officers for the coming Lok Sabha polls of the district that the first phase of election training on the use of EVMs will start from March 31 at DC Office, Lamphel.
