Imphal, April 26 2009:
THE COMMON candidate of Left Democratic Alliance (LDA), Dr M Nara and Secretariat member of CPI (M) Ksh Shanta today have reached New Delhi to meet the officials of Election Commission of India (ECI) to convince them of rigging the polls by Congress at many polling stations in Andro AC and elsewhere during the voting of Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency on April 22 .
Meanwhile, the CPI along with its partners in the LDA today organised a sit-in-protest at Yairipok Bazar in Thoubal district where a meeting was also held.
The Left parties are demanding repoll in 16 polling stations, mostly in Andro AC.
On reaching New Delhi, Dr Nara and Shanta met with several national leaders of CPI and CPI (M) and told them how the Congress had rigged the polls at 16 polling stations including 11 of Andro AC.
As per reports received here, the two Left leaders along with national leaders are preparing to meet the officials and urge them to conduct repolls at these polling stations in Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.
