Thanks giving, pre-poll meet held

Along with the local populace, chairman, secretary and members of Kangpokpi Block Congress Committee attended a thanks giving cum public meeting held today at Daili village under the joint aegis of youths and village authority of Daili village for IGP (Retd) N kipgen, who will be contesting the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly election from Kangpokpi AC .
Thanking the almighty for his smooth transition of serving the people as a teacher and then as a police officer till his retirement as an IGP, N Kipgen said his unceasing spirit to work for the people led to his decision to stand in the forthcoming election as a representative of Kangpokpi AC .
The former police officer also urged the Daili populace to remain united so that all adversary elements choking development of the people of Daili in particular, and Kangpokpi AC in general could be defeated.
In his address, Kangpokpi BCC secretary PT Zhaipou emphasised on changing the past trend of Congress representative from Kangpokpi AC sitting in the opposition bench in the Assembly.
He asserted that time has come for one and all to ensure election of N Kipgen so as to clear the path for the people's aspiration for all-round development in Kangpokpi.
Chairman of the BCC Tonglat, who also spoke at the occasion, said that with Congress party being the only political organisation in Manipur whose principle is based on secularism, election of N Kipgen will ensure a harmonious and progressive Kangpokpi AC .
Among others, Daili village pastor Pfokreho Stephen and social activist Paolal Kipgen also addressed the meeting which was attended by people from 16 villages in and around Daili.
