Two KYKL activists, a senior leader of the outfit and his wife were picked up by National Investigation Agency officials yesterday from a house in Kurseong of Darjeeling district.
The NIA team led by an officer of DIG rank had been camping in the district for a couple of days, said Kolkata-based Express News Service (ENS) agency and added that an NIA official identified the arrested persons as Manjer Singh and his wife Meera Tamang, another active member of KYKL.
Manjer is informed to be entrusted to spread the outfit's base in North Bengal, after a senior KYKL leader namely Ningthoujam Tomba alias Koireng, was arrested by the district police from Matigara on March 14.Koireng was in charge of the finance wing of the outfit.
During Tomba's interrogation, the police came to know how the KYKL had started establishing links with several international terrorists outfit in Nepal, Burma and Bhutan, the ENS report maintained.
