No one has turned up from the side of the State Police Department today to give their statements on the July 23 incident of Khwairamband Bazar, inspite of having served a notice to the DGP, by the Manipur State Human Rights Commission.
The Commission, which is investigating the incident that left two persons, including a pregnant woman, killed and five other civilians wounded in firing by police commandos had issued notice to the DGP on August 8 to give statements on the incident from the side of the Police Department by 11 am today.
However, no one came from the side of the Police Dept.
The Commission has so far recorded the statements of the bereaved family members, injured victims and other eye witnesses.
MHRC took up the case on the basis of a complaint filed by the husband of the late Th Rabina.
