Imphal, August 08 2009: The JAC Against the Killing of Ch Sanjit has decried the alleged arrest of volunteers of Help Line Unit, JN Hospital.

A press release issued by the JAC asserted that arrest of the volunteers looking after injured victims was nothing but inviting for more intensified people's movement.

Demanding release of all those arrested in the course of the mass movement without any condition, the JAC declared that more intense agitation will be launched from tomorrow together with the people as the Government has failed to fulfil its demands till date.

Asserting that the incumbent Government has become a big threat to the people, the JAC accused O Ibobi's Government of being anti-people, bereft of any benevolence towards its citizens.

It denounced the Government's attempt to suppress civil organisations and gag media.

Asking the Government not to play with the lives of innocent citizens, the JAC cautioned there is no guarantee that a mass movement similar to the scale of June 18 episode will not repeat.

The JAC also questioned the intention behind the firing attack at the office of Paojel evening daily.
