Decrying the indiscriminate firing at Khwairamband Market on July 23 which claimed two lives besides injuring five persons, the Chingamakha Apunba Nupi Lamjing Lup has appealed to all the MLAs to stand for the people and justice but not to allow themselves gagged by money.
A press release issued by the Lup asserted that there is no need for any enquiry as the killers have been already identified.
It demanded immediate termination of those involved in the twin killing instead of mere suspension.
Alleging that Chief Minister O Ibobi was taking refuge in Delhi while Manipur was virtually burning, the United Clubs Organisation (UCO), Golapati Hatta has demanded immediate resignation of Okram Ibobi.
It also denounced the stoic silence maintained by the Congress party even as the whole state is caught in a turmoil.
Noting that Tehelka has already done the enquiry, the UCO demanded dismissal of the guilty personnel and to book them under NSA.
The Amateur Athletic Association (AAA), Kongpal has also demanded termination and life imprisonment of all those involved in the twin cold blooded killing.
It also shared the pain and grief being endured by the families of the deceased victims as well as injured victims.
Coming out strongly against the killing of Sanjit and Rabina by police commandos in a fake encounter, the People Action for Development-NH 53 cried for punishment and dismissal of the police commandos involved in the fake encounter as well as responsible police officers.
The Socio Economic and Welfare Organisation, Sangaiprou Kabui village has also strongly condemned the killing of Sanjit and Rabina in a fake encounter.
The KSO, Imphal Branch observed that no enquiry is needed after Tehelka has already established with hard evidence that the July 23 firing incident was a clear case of fake encounter.
It further alleged that 99 percent of the past cases of encounters would have been fake.
While calling upon the people to join hands and stand united against state terrorism so that such incidents do not recur, the KSO pledged full support to all democratic forms of people's movements against the Khwairamband Market firing incident.
The Majorkhul Thoubei (Village Council), Khangchu (Youths' Dormitory), Mathenmei Phom (Women's Group), Majorkhul Women Society and Majorkhul Young Association have also decried the excesses committed by police commandos at Khwairamband Market which resulted in the death of Rabina and Sanjit and injuries to five persons.
The also shared the grief of the families of Sanjit and Rabina.
On the other hand, a huge public rally was taken out at Kongthoujam area in the night of August 5 under the aegis of the Konthoujam Apunba Nupee Lup, conveyed a release.
