A youth abducted by unidentified armed persons from Khangabok area some days back has been found shot dead today.
According to information received by the here, moirangthem Dhiren alias Michael (25) s/o Ito of Khangabok Part-II Moirang Palli had been reportedly abducted by some armed per sons on July 31 at around 5 pm at near Lamdaibung Checkon, which lies on the Khangabok-Tentha road.
Lifeless body of the abducted youth was located at around 6.30 am today near lembakhul under Yairipok police station.
The corpse with two bullet wounds on the lower chin portion has been recovered by a police team and deposited the same at RIMS morgue.
In connection with the killing of Dhiren a public meeting held today at Khangabok resolved to constitute a JAC followed by a JAC team handing over a memorandum to the Chief Minister.
Demands highlighted in the memorandum include tracking down Dhiren's murderers within August 6 and extending ex-gratia to the victim's family along with a Government job to next of kin of the victim.
The JAC also served an ultimatum to the Government in case of failure to translate into action its demands, Dhiren's body would not be claimed and instead intense agitation would be launched.
