Imphal, October 31 2009: As per a declaration of the Zeiangrong General Public Convention (ZGPC) held at Tamenglong Indoor Stadium yesterday, offices of the Zeliangrong Union (AMN) and Zeliangrong Baudi (ZB) have been ceased from functioning with immediate effect, said a press release issued by ZGPC secretary Rev R Khanglen.

The convention attended by 1500 delegates from Zeliangrong inhabited areas of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland resolved and constituted an eleven member interim body named Zeliangrong Interim Body for a period of three months.

The Zeliangrong Interim Body was entrusted to work for amendment of Zeliangrong Union/Zeliangrong Baudi constitution, election of functionaries of the apex body and zonal bodies, finalisation of nomenclature for the Zeliangrong apex body etc.

The convention was presided by former presidents of ZU (AMN) while recording secretaries were Dichamang Pamei (secretary of ZEFPB), Poujiang Kamei (president of ZYF), T Mirhu (president of AZSU) and K Humaliabou (chairman of ZSUM), added the release.
