Imphal, March 31 2009: A woman activist of KCPMC (Lamyanba Khuman group) who also has a four year daughter has been apprehended by Imphal West commandos from Sega Road this morning.

The arrested woman has been identified Leishangthem Minakumari alias Kabita alias Ranibala (27) w/o Naresh of Kwakeithel Leimakhujam Leikai.

She is the mother of a four year old daughter.

She was arrested from Sega Road Dhobi Machu Leirak at about 11.30 am.

Briefing media persons about the arrest, Imphal West Commando GO AK Jhaljit asserted that the arrest of Minakumari has confirmed about UG groups using young mothers in extortion and other activities.

Earlier, there were instances of using drug abusers in similar activities, he said.

Bijen, an elder brother of Minakumari, is currently lodged in jail.

He is a cadre of the KCP-MC.

Minakumari was working under one RK from Moirang who is an acquaintance of her brother, aid Jhaljit quoting the arrested woman.
