Applications have been invited from interested and eligible persons for financial assistance under National Foundation For Communal Harmony (NFCH) instituted by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
A notification issued by the District Social Welfare Officer, Imphal West informed that the surviving children in the age group of 5-18 years of a mother or father killed in communal, caste, ethnic, terrorist or violent incidents may apply for financial assistance for their education and further professional or vocational courses from NFCH.
Children whose either parent has been maimed for life or of victimised families may apply for the same assistance, added the notification.
For exceptional cases, the age limit of the beneficiary children may be extended up to 21 years.
Interested persons may obtain application forms and details from the District Social Welfare Office, Imphal West at DC office complex Lamphelpat, mentioned the notification.
