Workers appeal against UG threat

Workers' Union of Kangla Food Products has appealed to KCP (MTF) to withdraw its threat on the proprietor of Kangla Food Products in consideration of the poor workers whose livelihood depend on the manufacturing unit.
Addressing a press conference in this connection at the office of Kangla Food Products at Nambol today, secretary of the Workers' Union S Meghachandra said that following the threat of KCP (MTF) on the proprietor of Kangla Food Products, daytoday activities of the workers who depend their livelihood on the manufacturing unit have been seriously affected so much so that many of the workers are even apprehensive of attending to their normal duty.
Of the around 150 workers employed in Kangla Food Products, majority of them are daily wage earners and sole bread earners of their respective families.
So, a possible shut down of the manufacturing unit would not only give a serious impact on the workers themselves but also on members of their respective families, Meghachandra said, while appealing to the KCP (MTF) to withdraw the restriction impose over the proprietor.
