Imphal, August 08 2009: The Kom Rem Union Manipur has urged upon all concerned to stop fake encounters, conveyed a press release issued KRUM.

Referring to the contradictory statements of the Chief Minister "there is other option than to kill" , "killing of each other will not serve any purpose", the KRUM ridiculed the political immaturity of the Chief Minister.

Demanding that all those commando personnel involved in the Khwairamband Market firing of July 23 should be booked and imprisoned, it asked whether the Chief Minister has forgotten where the jail is.

Strongly condemning the firing incident, the Kom Rem Union called upon the people to give up the habit of demanding ex-gratia but to struggle for justice.

It also pledged unstinted support to the movements launched by the Apunba Lup and JACs.
