Imphal, February 08 2009: Relay hunger strike launched under Save Sharmila campaign under the aegis of the Sharmila Kanba Lup since December 10 last year has completed two months yesterday.

The relay hunger strike staged at Porompat is being participated by Meira Paibi activists, members of civil organisations and NGOs operating at different levels across the State.

On the 61st day today, similar relay hunger strikes on the same cause in support to the campaign has been launched at Kumbi parking and Moirang Khunou Bazar since today.

These relay hunger strikes will continue till February 10 .

The relay hunger strike being staged at Kumbi parking on the demands, "Save Sharmila", "Repeal AFSPA" was participated by members of the Moirang Keithel Phambi Ima Lup, Meira Paibi activists of Moirang Thana Leikai, Moirang Kokilbon, Moirang Patlou Leikai, Moirang Paya Leikai, Moirang Yumkhaibam Leikai, Moirang College Gate, Moirang Phairenbam Leikai, Women Upliftment Association Moirang and Moirang Pansang Leikai.

At Moirang Khunou Bazar, the relay hunger strike is staged by Meira Paibi activists of Keibul Lamjao, Thanga Lawai, Moirang Khunou Saban Leikai, Keibul Chingmei and Khangshoibi Mapan.
