New Delhi, October 06:
A Manipuri woman's fast to demand the repeal of an anti-terror law entered the third day today as Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil offered to share the findings of a Govt report on reviewing the legislation.
Concerned about her health, an eight-member team of human rights activists met Patil, who refused to give any assurance on repealing the Act but offered to share with Sharmila the findings of the Justice Jeevan Reddy committee, which was formed to review the law.
"The Home Minister expressed concern about Sharmila's health and offered to send a high-level official with the Jeevan Reddy report to her so that she ends her fast," said Babloo Loitongbam, who was part of the team that met Patil.
He said the delegation conveyed Patil's message to Sharmila, who immediately rejected it.
Expressing solidarity with Sharmila, Delhi University teacher SAR Geelani and JKLF leader Yasin Malik joined her protest for a brief period.
