Imphal, November 26:
There is likelihood that the State cabinet is going to hold meeting on Nov 27 to discuss on the retirement age limit, according to All Tribal Students Union, Manipur (ATSUM) and that there is strong possibility that the cabinet may fix the retirement age limit to 60 years.
ATSUM president John Pulamte quoting sources disclosed to Newmai News Network tonight .
In this regard, the apex tribal students' body of Manipur has cautioned the state govt that ATSUM would strongly oppose in case such decision is taken by the cabinet.
The existing retirement age is 58 years.
ATSUM said that its decision to oppose rise in retirement age limit has been compelled by the unemployment problem faced by educated youth of Manipur who are in vain due to lack of employment opportunities.
The tribal students' body said increasing the retirement age limit amounts to slowing down the process of creating employment avenues for the younger generation.
ATSUM warned that any anti-youth and unpopular decision would not be accepted.
