Imphal, February 24, 2010:
On the 40th day of the cease work strike being staged under the banner of JAC of AMTUC-AMGEO, some State-run hospitals have started suspension of OPD services.
According to a press release of the JAC, emergency and casualty services were however not affected in the stir.
The press release issued by JAC publicity and information secretary L Priyobratta said that providing of drinking water by PHED would be suspended in coming days if the Government continues to maintain stoic silence to the demands of the JAC.
Maintaining that the ongoing stir is being staged for the benefit of all the Government employees of the State, the JAC also urged upon the security forces to extend full co-operation in the cease work strike.
The JAC said that a Rifleman in CRPF draws Rs 5, 587 more salary than State force Constable/Rifleman after the implementation of the 6th Pay Commission.
Likewise, a CRPF Inspector gets Rs 10,093 more salary than a State force Inspector/Subedar, it added.
The JAC further said that an arrear of Rs 2,66,256 has been given to a Constable of CRPF after the implementation of the 6th Pay Commission.
Moreover, Rs 8000 each has been included as education allowance for two wards for each for every Central force personnel, the JAC added.
The JAC also urged upon the State forces not to threaten the agitating employees who are working for the benefit of the whole State Government employees.
Meanwhile, All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers' Welfare Association in a meeting held yesterday at Ananda Singh Higher Academy discussed on the ways and means to support the ongoing stir being staged under the banner of JAC AMTUC-AMGEO.
The association decided to stage democratic agitation in support of the JAC.
The association would finally decide on the types of agitation in another general body meeting to be convened on February 27 at TG Higher Secondary School, said a press release.
Meanwhile, Citizen Development Committee condemned both State Government and agitating JAC in connection with the ongoing stir.
The committee asked why the JAC fails to take legal recourse if it thinks their demands are legal in the eye of law.
The ongoing stir gives lots of inconvenience to the general public, already disturbed by fear psychosis.
