All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association celebrated Private School Day at MDU Hall today.
Education Minister L Jayantakumar and All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association President M Prabirkumar were the chief guest and president of the function respectively.
Former Vice-Chancellor of Manipur University, Dr IS Khaidem and Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur Secretary Dr H Nabakumar were also present in the function as guests of honour.
Addressing the gathering, L Jayantakumar said that State students and teachers must plunge into competitions at the National level.
Saying that making classification as private and Government schools does not serve any purpose, the Minister observed that every school is meant for providing good education, enhancing knowledge and building up good moral character of children.
Expressing concern that some schools are after easy moolahs only, Jayantakumar exhorted the school founders to stick to the primary objective of establishing a school fulfilment of Right to Education.
Detailing on the Right to Education Act 2009, the Minister said that if any child is denied of this right, Court may punish the culprit.
According to the guideline of the Central Government, Jayantakumar added, every schools must have trained teachers only and it must be fully implemented within five years.
Glorifying the achievements of private schools, meritorious students who were in the top 25 positions in Board exams were feted in today's function.
