Imphal, December 10 2011: A seminar based on the theme of women politicians' role in a chaotic society like Manipur was organised by Sailai Apunba Nupi Lamjing Lup (Sanulal) at GM Hall here today.

As chief guest of the seminar, Manipur women's Development Corporation chairperson AK Mirabai prevailed upon the gathering that involvement of more women in political activities would be able to convince the Government in framing effective legislation to curb violence against women.

Noting that frequent bandhs and blockades had been a bane in the overall development of Manipur, she said whereever there is agitation in the state womenfolk who venture out of homes to earn livelihood suffer the most.
