Imphal, October 08 2009:
Although today (Oct 8) is the last date for submission of affidavits to the PG Agarwal Commission of Inquiry, instituted to probe into the Khwairamband killing of July 23, not a single affidavit has been submitted so far.
Notably, the last date of submission of reports/affidavits into the July 23 killing was extended till today after no report/affidavit was forthcoming by the date set earlier for the same.
Yet, according to information received from the commission, the DGP, SP Imphal West and OC of City Police station have appealed to the Commission to extend the time for submission of police affidavits for 15 days.
With no one coming forward to give statements in connection with the July 23 twin killings, the Commission has sent summons through police commandos.
It is reported that late Sanjit's family refused to receive the Commission's summon.
With the last date for submission of reports/affidavits expiring today, the PG Agarwal Commission of Enquiry will begin hearing from tomorrow.
Subhaschandra of Kha-Potshangbam who sustained injuries in the July 23 firing would give his statement tomorrow.
