Fear grips food firm workers

With the armed KCP-MTF group yet to withdraw its threat against the proprietor of Kangla Food Product KFP), Nambol consequently resulting in the closure of the food firm a large number of workers are suffering severe hardships in running their respective families.
Speaking newspersons at Nambol today, KFP workers' Union secretary S Meghachandra informed that for the second time the factory ceased work since May 24 following a renewed threat.
Appealing to the armed group to review its decision of shutting down the factory as the prohibition is having direct impact on the livelihood of over 150 workers, he said with most of the workers not reporting for work due to fear KFP is on the verge of bankruptcy.
Conceding that through the media plight of the workers is being highlighted, he reiterated the appeal for lifting the ban to facilitate return of the workers as there are still many orders pending delivery.
