Blaming Government of India for allegedly driving wedge among the various ethnic groups of people living in Manipur since time immemorial, president of National Identity protection Committee (NIPCO) Y Nabachandra has stated such divisive policies have disturbed the peaceful atmosphere of the Manipuri society.
It is night time that all the ethnic groups should keep aside their narrow parochial outlook and work together for unity and development of the society, he said while speaking as one of the presidium members of programme on Integrated development for peace and unity at Utonglok Community Hall under Senapati district.
The programme was jointly organised by NIPCO and Utonglok Youth Club.
Nabachandra further said what kind of attitude the Government of India has toward the people of Manipuri society should be understood by all the people.
It is also pertinent to analyse the policies being adopted toward the people of the State, he added.
Chief of Utonglok Koireng village R Hemkhup, information and publicity secretary of All Manipur Christian Organisation Pastor Kungsong Wanbe, Luplakpa of Utonglok Koireng Village Y Rengdon, president of Utonglok Sporting and Welfare Organisation Z Ngirson were also among the presidium members and other invitees who spoke at the occasion giving a clarion call for peace and unity among the people.
